The relationship-based model of care in our therapeutic boarding school lets the resident know that we are there to help them in any way possible as they work through their issues. We are truly focused on "alliance" rather than just compliance. Our Life Coaches, Therapists, and ancillary staff are upbeat, loving, and invested in fostering positive relationships with the residents and families we serve. We know that the combination of our external environment and the importance of caring relationships are catalysts to nurturing internal change.

I wanted to make it known what an amazing place Promise Village is! The staff is highly skilled, intelligent, and compassionate. Each child receives an individualized treatment plan and the staff is able to tailor to the needs of each child.
Our son spent more than seven months there and it was one of the best decisions of our life. Alex, our son, struggled with anger and self control issues and we were having a hard time helping him cope with the difficult changes that had occurred in his life. He had turned to electronics and was avoiding dealing with and processing painful events that had strongly impacted his life. He was being disrespectful and his grades had plummeted. After touring Promise Village, learning and meeting the staff, and understanding their mission and goals for every boy that receives counseling there, we were comfortable considering them for our sons treatment.
When our son, Riley, left Promise Village after 12 months he played a song at his Candlewish (graduation) ceremony that he said summed up his time there. There was a lyric in that song that truly exemplifies this – "I want to thrive, not just survive." Our family's Promise Village experience has allowed us to go from survival-mode to thriving! During Riley's time at Promise Village he worked on life skills, academic skills, and work ethic. However, it was the Christian values and expectations that were weaved into daily activities that provided the foundation of my son's transformation from an angry, reactive child who consistently made very poor choices – to a young man driven to make better choices and welcomed Jesus into his heart. The staff and therapists demonstrated high quality life coaching and ability to work with my son's struggles to impart life-long skills needed in today's society.

"We cannot thank you enough for transforming our son Ryan back into the person that we knew and loved. The journey was a challenging one but so worth it. A year ago, we came to you with indescribable brokenness. We felt so helpless as we watched Ryan fail in school, have no plans for the future, no goals, and horrible friends that dragged him down and stole from us as well as him. He was a consistent liar. He snuck out at night and was on drugs. We reached out to anyone who could help without results.

"Culture has a way of watching over the change of so many things. Over time things fade away. Given any particular situation, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. For instance, words take on new meanings. Perhaps the original iron clad definition many trusted in throughout time become weaker and even changed situationally. "Promise" is one such word. Thankfully though, there are still bastions of purists who truly strive for the precious meaning of this word. Promise Village: Home for Children in our opinion is one such place.
It was here that we found our son Chris. Having been introduced to Promise Village through a small Christian school where we worked and our daughter attended, we began to interact with a number of the boys and staff from Promise Village.

"Jenny and I wanted to express our most profound gratitude to each of you for the extraordinary work you did with our son Michael. We feel that finding Promise Village when we did and placing Michael there on such short notice was nothing short of a miracle for our family and the results have certainly been an answer to so many of our prayers for our son.
Before being placed at Promise Village Michael was angry, non-compliant, dishonest, disruptive, verbally abusive, disrespectful, belligerent and unmotivated in almost every activity except video-gaming.
