National Training Initiative
Do you have a heart for hurting kids or troubled teens? Do you want to do something truly worthwhile that will transform young lives? If so, this may be the start of an exciting adventure for you.
There are far more youth in need of rescue than there are homes with adequate programs to help them. Over the past twelve years, Promise Village has crafted a proven model for operating a residential care program that provides quality care and clinical treatment. We specialize in helping abused, neglected, troubled, or at-risk children and teens. Our vision is not just to continue providing personalized treatment and life-changing care to those in our home. We also aim to multiply our impact by training and equipping others to open or improve residential care programs all over America and around the world. Might this be something for you?
Sometimes, all that is missing is the know-how. We know how. We can train you to do what we do, but apply it with those who are the focus of your concern. This training applies to opening or operating a:
• Residential Treatment Program
• Children’s Home
• Group Home for Teen Boys or Girls
• Therapeutic Boarding School
• A Promise Village Affiliate Home
This training can be used to start a new residential care program or to refresh current programming where administrators are looking for new ways to enhance their organization. Here are the people we encourage to consider joining us:
• Those in helping professions: Counselor, Social Worker, or Psychologist
• Those who own property or a home that could become a place to start a program
• Those in youth work: youth pastors, youth ministry directors, or volunteers
• Entrepreneurs who want their resources invested in transforming young lives
• Individuals, couples, or groups with a vision to open a home but who need expert guidance
• Parents whose child has been helped by a similar program, and who want to pay it forward
If you think this might be something you’d be interested in, the first step is to attend a Discovery Weekend. This three-day training brings you to Promise Village to explore the possibilities. It covers:
• What you need to know and do to start a home
• Financial considerations, funding, and development
• Essential staffing: program staff, Board development
• Volunteer management
A comprehensive treatment model that includes:
• Clinical treatment programming
• Creative behavior management
• Our unique “PROMISES” Stage System
• Recreation therapy, milieu therapy, and social-skill training
• Animal-assisted and equine therapy
• Business administration
• Essentials of interacting with governing authorities (even if you run a faith-based program)
• Creating a life-support network for your residents
If you have ever thought about the possibility of opening a home to change the lives of hurting kids and youth for the better, don’t let this opportunity pass you by. This Discovery Session will show you a detailed overview of what it takes to open a home or create such a program. You will come away with a wealth of information that you can use to move in the direction of your dreams of caring for young people who need someone to help them turn their lives around.

What Senator John Pappageorge Says…
“The reason Promise Village is so great is because they understand that to save a kid it takes one-on-one relationships. The beauty of the program is the way they use animals to connect with the kids and to begin to build responsibility on the part of the kids by looking after the animals. The most satisfying thing is to see where these kids have been, where they are now, and where they are headed in the future. It’s wonderful to see the remarkable changes in their lives. This program works. In fact, we’ve got to figure out how to have Promise Village’s all over the country. I’ve been involved with Promise Village for a number of years now and know it is a superb program. I’ve said to others that it’s a model we need to export to the rest of the country.”
